Juncus pallidus, commonly known as Wiwi or Giant Rush, is a species of flowering plant native to NZ. This slender, grass-like rush features pale green stems and delicate clusters of small, pale flowers. Juncus pallidus is notable for its adaptability to various soil types and moisture conditions, thriving in both wetland and dryland habitats. It is frost hardy and typically grows to a height of 1.5m x 1.2m wide. This species is often utilised for stabilising soil in wetland restoration projects, erosion control, and as an ornamental grass in garden landscapes.
