Coprosma rugosa, commonly known as needle-leaved mountain coprosma, is an evergreen shrub native to New Zealand. It typically grows up to 3 meters in height and is characterized by its dense, bushy form with interlacing, wide-angled twigs bearing clusters of very narrow leaves. The twigs are fuzzy, becoming orange towards the base, and the leaves measure 10–14 mm in length and up to 1.5 mm in width. In autumn, the plant produces small, pale to dark blue berries. Due to its dense and vigorous growth, it is suitable for hedging and is considered a very hardy shrub.
