Coprosma crassifolia, commonly known as Mingimingi, is an erect, evergreen shrub native to New Zealand, found in scrublands, forests, and coastal areas up to approximately 600 meters in both the North and South Islands. It typically grows up to 4 meters in height, featuring stiff, red-brown branches with small, thick, round or oval glossy leaves that are white underneath. The plant produces inconspicuous green flowers from September to October, followed by translucent berries that are yellowish or white, attracting skinks and birds. Due to its dense branching and attractive foliage, it is suitable for hedging, shelter belts, and revegetation projects, particularly in drought-prone sites.
