Clianthus puniceus alba, an NZ native commonly known as White Kakabeak, is one of New Zealand’s showiest natives. It has large, beak-shaped flowers, full of nectar for the native birds. Best to prune lightly after flowering. Will grow in most well drained soils, and tolerates dry conditions once established. Protect from heavy frosts and strong winds. Grows to approx. 2m x 2m when mature.
